DEN0002731743 – Registered Dentist, General Registration

Dr Shahana is the Principal Dentist at the Smile On Griffith Clinic and Head of Mentorship across the Smile On Group, where she supports and mentors clinicians across its multiple practices.

With over 20 years of clinical and teaching experience across South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Australia, Dr Shahana has a strong interest in comprehensive, facially driven treatment planning and smile rehabilitation. Her approach focuses on creating natural-looking, balanced, and individually tailored outcomes that complement each patient’s facial features, function, and long-term oral health.

Dr Shahana has undertaken extensive additional training in non-surgical cosmetic facial procedures and medical-grade skin treatments, allowing her to take a holistic approach to smile and facial harmony. Her experience also includes therapeutic treatment modalities aimed at supporting patient comfort and managing the functional effects of clenching and grinding.

She provides a wide range of advanced dental treatments including:

  • High-end, natural-looking porcelain veneers
  • Aesthetic smile rehabilitation including clear aligners and composite bonding
  • Full mouth rehabilitations for advanced tooth wear
  • Single and multiple dental implants and other tooth replacement treatments
  • Full arch (All on X) implant consultations (Teeth on Implants)
  • Cosmetic and restorative smile design

Dr Shahana is particularly passionate about achieving outcomes that feel elegant, natural, and harmonious rather than overdone. Her treatment philosophy combines aesthetics, function, and patient comfort, with careful attention to detail throughout every stage of the process.

Her Doctor of Science (DSc) research explored communication psychology and Neuro Linguistic Programming within multilingual healthcare settings, shaping her patient-centred approach to consultation and care. She places strong emphasis on listening without judgment and creating a calm, supportive environment where patients feel safe discussing their concerns, goals, and insecurities openly.

Whether patients are seeking a simple smile enhancement or a complex full mouth rehabilitation, Dr Shahana believes the first step is always a conversation; understanding what matters most to the individual and building a treatment plan around their needs, lifestyle, and confidence.

Alongside clinical practice, Dr Shahana is also the founder of Aurora Academy, an international dental education platform, and has lectured and mentored dentists both locally and internationally. She previously taught undergraduate dentistry at Griffith University Dental School for many years and continues to be actively involved in clinician education, communication training, and mentorship.
