Smile On Clinics is a growing network of dental practices built on the simple belief that patients deserve better access to quality care, without losing the local connections that matter.

Founded by siblings Dr Ned Restom and Claudine Restom-Narciss, along with close friend Dr David Bassal, Smile On Clinics began with a single practice on the NSW Central Coast in 2007. Today, our family-run group has more than 40 clinics across Australia, with a strong focus on supporting regional communities.

Why We’re Doing Things Differently

From the beginning, we set out to build something different from traditional corporate models – a network that puts people first. Dentist-led and dentist-run, we support practice owners to stay independent while benefiting from the support and resources that come with being part of something bigger.

Care is at the centre of everything we do. Every Smile On clinic is locally run, with teams who believe dentistry should feel personal, not clinical. Whether it’s a simple check-up or a complex implant procedure, we’re here to build lasting relationships and provide care that puts patients at ease.

Innovation is a big part of how we care, and it’s why we invest in the latest dental technology and advanced techniques as standard. From TEETH ON IMPLANTS®, a full-arch implant solution pioneered and patented by us, to Smile On Straighter, our in-house clear aligner brand, we give our teams the tools they need to deliver exceptional care.

Clinical Leadership That Sets Us Apart

Dr Ned Restom, Co-Founder and Principal Dentist, has over 20 years’ experience in dentistry – and a passion for regional care that began early in his career. After graduating in 2004, he took up a post in the New England region, where he saw firsthand how difficult it was to access timely dental care outside major cities. That experience laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong commitment to improving care in regional communities.

Ned is recognised as one of Australia’s leading implant clinicians. He’s one of only four Australians to hold a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology, and he holds postgraduate qualifications in implantology from both Australian and US institutions. He’s also a qualified pilot with a fleet of Smile On planes, allowing him to fly into regional areas to perform complex surgeries.

Claudine Restom-Narciss, General Manager, brings a calm, strategic presence to the business. With an MBA in Health Services Management she has extensive experience in health leadership and operations. Claudine’s focus on people, process and patient experience has helped shape a culture where clinicians are supported to do their best work, and patients feel genuinely cared for at every step.

Claudine’s role is shaped by strong family values and a deep respect for the work being done on the ground. She oversees everything from backend systems to large-scale projects and day-to-day operations, ensuring the business runs efficiently – while staying connected to the clinics and teams that bring it to life.

Dr David Bassal, Co-Founder and Principal Dentist, is a highly regarded leader in digital implantology and cosmetic dentistry. With over 15 years’ global experience and a Masters in Implantology, David is at the forefront of cutting-edge treatment techniques that deliver long-term, predictable outcomes.

David’s commitment to education and clinical excellence plays a vital role in our innovation and growth – from co-pioneering digital scanning for full-arch TEETH ON IMPLANTS® procedures, to mentoring other dentists through advanced surgical training. His dedication continues to raise the standard of care across our network and beyond.

Advancing Implant Care Across Australia

Together, Ned, Claudine and David also co-founded the Australasian Implant Academy (AIA), a nationally recognised training institute that has supported hundreds of clinicians in delivering advanced implant treatment across Australia.

The AIA continues to play a key role in scaling surgical services across Smile On Clinics practices, ensuring patients in regional areas have access to the same high-level care and technology as those in capital cities.

Even as our network expands, our leadership team continues to bring the same down-to-earth focus and dedication that’s been there since day one. Smile On Clinics is more than a dental group – it’s a family, built on shared values and a belief in making a difference, one smile at a time.
