What Is the CDBS?
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is an Australian Government program that helps eligible children access basic dental care through Medicare. Depending on when your child first becomes eligible, benefits are capped at up to $1,158 over two consecutive calendar years, covering services like check-ups, X-rays, cleans, fissure sealants, fillings, root canal treatment, and extractions.
The CDBS doesn't cover orthodontic treatment, cosmetic dental work, or services provided in a hospital.
Who's eligible?
Eligibility is reassessed each calendar year – you can check your child's status and remaining balance through myGov or by asking our team to check for you.
